1. The first thing to learn before delivering your first public address is the importance of body language. Even before you open your mouth the audience will be assessing you. Always be well dressed, calm and portray a confident attitude. Stand erect and smile at the audience, do not hurry, and make sure that your smile encompasses everyone not only the people in front of you.
